Au Revoir Ecole Lesage…

Hello again everyone!  I know I’ve been missing for a really long time, but I am back!  I am finally home and enjoying the California sun that I missed so much!  I wanted to post more often in Paris but Lesage had me working long hours every day!  For my first post back, I wanted to share a little of my experience at Ecole Lesage…

Above are some photos that summarize what I worked on and what I experienced at Lesage.  It was amazing, but it was a real eye-opener and tougher than I thought.  It required a lot of attention to detail and a lot of patience.  Now I know how serious and stressful the world of Haute Couture can be!  I can only imagine how it must feel for them to work on a Chanel collection; under a time limit and under so much pressure!  There is still so much to learn and I would definitely go back, but for now I’ll take what I learned and see what I can create! 😉

Stay tuned…I will be posting photos of my adventures in Paris, Monte Carlo, and Rome soon!

An Afternoon at Montmartre

how to layer in the winter in paris

Last weekend I spent the afternoon at the charming Montmartre hill.  After many gloomy days in Paris, it was refreshing to see a bright, beautiful blue sky.  What I love about Montmartre is that it feels so different from the rest of Paris; it feels like a small village, separate from the rest of the world, and I can see why many of the great artists gathered there.  And of course, there’s the beautiful Basilique Sacre Coeur; which unfortunately photos aren’t allowed inside, but I did get a photo of the entrance doors where there were lions. 😉  My favorite photo of all is the last one; I captured the breathtaking view of Paris at sunset, and you can see a glimpse of the Eiffel Tower. 🙂  As for me, I did some mixing and matching with the colors, prints, and fabrics for this look.   I just got this Boucle Moto jacket from Zara and I love how versatile it is!  It’s not very warm, but it’s easy to layer  just as I did.

Chateau de Versailles

winter street style in paris

Last weekend I visited the extravagant Chateau de Versailles.  I haven’t had a chance to post because I’ve been busy with homework but Voila!  If there’s one thing you should know about me is that I’m obsessed with castles and palaces.  Of course, I always dreamed of living in one 😉 but, what I love the most is the history in them.  I am more of a fan of gothic and medieval castles but what I love about Versailles is the intricate detailing and all the gold!  I can only imagine what Marie Antoinette must’ve felt living in all that splendour.  For this post, I decided I wanted to focus more on the palace rather than my look, so I wore all black.  After all, I don’t think there is any outfit that can outshine Versailles! 😉

Rue Marie Stuart

how to wear a fur coat in paris

This is my first outfit post in Paris! 🙂 I finally received my camera charger and battery so I will finally start sharing my adventures in this magical city!

I wanted to start my first Paris outfit post in the area around my apartment so I can introduce you to my surroundings.  Rue Marie Stuart is a small street just outside of my apartment building that leads to the famous Rue Montorgueil.  I was so happy when I discovered that I’m staying so close to it because it is lined with bread, cheese, butcher, wine, and flower shops; I’ll have everything I need to feel right at home!  The thing I’m bummed about is the weather. I know I have complained before about it not being cold at home, but I really miss California weather right now, I haven’t even seen the sun since I left home.  I do enjoy wearing fur and gloves though. 😉  On another note, I get to be here during the sales which are madness, just like Black Friday; but I scored these awesome boots that I’m wearing in this post! 😉  Stay tuned for my next post; I will share my experience at Chateau de Versailles…
