Come one, come all! Who else has secretly wanted to join the circus?  I sure have, if only I lived in the early 1900’s.  To me, that’s the era when the circus seemed a lot more magical, imaginative, and bizarre.  I’m not quite sure what my act would’ve been, but I would’ve loved to be part of the Sideshow Freaks.  I always get lost in the vintage photos of them, they’re so hauntingly beautiful and it’s so inspiring how some of these performers took their conditions, odd talents, or abnormalities and turned them into something positive and marvelous.

I wore this nude, embellished dress to my cousin’s wedding a few years back.  It’s been sitting in my closet and I was thinking it’s too pretty to be kept away as an evening dress. As I was thinking of ways to turn it into a day look, it reminded me so much of something I’ve seen a circus performer wear in one of those vintage photographs.

Prepare to be astounded and amazed!
