Finally, I got around to wearing this jacket. I got in the summer when I went to Bosnia and I thought I was going to wear it in the fall, but that didn’t happen. Because it’s a dark, jewel-tone red velvet, I figured I could wear it with black for a dark vibe. But then I realized it’s also a great piece for spring. It adds a little extra excitement to the everyday classic white shirt and jeans look.
When I was in Bosnia I completely fell in love with it, one, because of the beautiful landscape, and two because of its Turkish influence. We visited the medieval town of Mostar; it was my first time shopping at a bazaar and it was amazing. It was like walking through a dream. Any time I visit another country, I always try to find a piece of their traditional clothing to take home with me. Yes, it was this jacket and I think it’s obvious why I fell in love with it.
